Some fairy wrasses are pretty big fwiw. My Scott's fairy wrasse is 5+ inches. I have seen solar wrasses that big as well. Lineatus and rhomboids get big as well.

Almost all of them are beautiful, and that's what makes them great. I kinda did a wrasse tank myself, as I have 4 different species together (it's all a matter of how you add them). My list (and generic pics, I'll have pics of mine later this week when I get around to it):
McCosker's (omitting pic, there's been one posted already- post #11)
    Filamented Flasher

    Lubbock's

    Multicolor Velvet:

Also, I had a Laboute's for a day and a half, before he jumped through my eggcrate. Yes, through. I didn't think he was small enough to do that, but alas. I'm yet to see one colored quite like the generic liveaquaria pic depicts them (post #2). Here's an actual pic of mine I took the only day I got to watch him (420 actinics and 20k MH):

So yes, do consider the variation within the same species.

Also, all of the lined species can be quite the bullies; they might be small but they're usually kinda mean. The flashers and fairys are quite mellow.
