He still eats fine though.. I think I'm going to take him back to the lfs on Monday... And just get clowns or wait till a good while. Hopefully I can catch him...

Well the other 2 types of fish are supposed to be hardy fish but who knows. Ugh... Well at least I saw it now so hopefully it's not to late.

    as long it's eating i wouldn't worry
probobly best to be soaking food in garlic and vitamins

I always soak the food in garlic, The problem is that if he is going to be sick I rather give it back to the lfs while I still can. I can trade him in
for 2 clowns or just another type of hardier tang.

What pisses me off is that I knew that he was prone to ich and my dumb self still went and bought it.

    don't get down on yourself..
ich is inevitable.. but if you do like the fish enough and you trust yourself, keeping the fish wouldn't be a bad option.. by catching it and bringing it back to the LFS (most LFS don't do a better job than you to keep or save a fish), it'll just stress out the fish completely and make it a goner.. if you keep it, at least he has a better chance.. give it a chance :D

Don't take it back. If you want to keep tangs in the future or present you have to accept that ich is going to come and go. IME it is less likely to add a tang and have it NOT get a small case of ich. That's just a part of the fish. Keep it eating and the ich will pass in no time.

Most definitely. I have a theory on tang ich that it is a different strain. I have seen it many, many times in many, many different tanks. The tang comes in, gets stress ich, none of the other fish get it, tang gets better, and the ich isn't seen again.
