    what i need to is where to find info on parm. for the ocean everything that us hobbist are able to test for thax in advance

    theres so many test out there the main ones are ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph, alkalinity, salt, and calcium. these are the most important

    but there are test for phosphuras, silicates, copper, magnesium and just about anything you want to test for just look around you should be able to find a list

    I use a pH meter and don't know how I could live without it.

    Would be a great starter kit even at that price. Decent indidual test kits are $12 - $15 a piece.

    One should remember that tests kits are not really that accurate and should be compared to other brand names.
    The main tests I use are Calcium, Alk, Phosphateand and use a pH meter.
    When tank was first started I did the ammonia and nitrate, Nitrite tests but to tell the truth I do not use them any more because after 8 months they always read the same. Once you get into a routine and your tank is stable you should not have to test that much for those any more unless you see things in your tank change then you should not have to adjust the normal tank maintenance.
