Just a couple weeks ago Ecoxotic announced the coming of a revolutionary little new tank, the Ecopico. We couldn't help but jump on the opportunity to get some of these in as quickly as possible and get one set up as a full bore reef right out of the box.

    The look:
As we saw in the pre-release photos, it is a very smooth looking little set-up with a very new age L.E.D. lighting system and sleek little filtration system.

    Filtration:
This little filter is perfect to complete this system. It tucks nicely back into the corner and provides a nice bit of flow to keep livestock happy. It even manages to disturb the surface enough to get some nice shimmer effects.

    Lighting:
The lighting on this pico is what really sets it apart from all other tanks. This one comes stock with L.E.D. lighting, and they are nothing to laugh at! The stock lighting packs plenty of punch to throw coral growing light all the way to the bottom of the cube, and they are upgradable! That's right, Ecoxotic is making upgrade L.E.D. strips for this little fixture. Simply add on more strips of your desired color L.E.D.s, which are independently controllable, and you could have this tank growing SPS in no time!

This tank looks really cool. Is there any external filtration/cords out the back of the tank?

On Ecoxotics webpage, I believe it says it is 5.5 gallon...and even adding 3 more strips of LEDs to it, the total came to to $190. Definitely picking one of these up.

    Heat?

I have a fish only aquarium and have been dying to create a nano reef. This would be perfect. I lode the clean look with no cords but I have a stupid question.

What about heat? Dropping in a submersible heater would kill the looks of this aquarium.

If you do a reef only, is a proper temp of concern? Advice needed.
