Welcome to 3 Reef ! We here are a tight nitch group and willing to help with whatever. That being said I will tell you what everyone else seems to be avoiding. If I were you I would stop right were you are sell that tank our take it back. If you truly are wanting to bring out the beauty of a reef tank , that TALL is not gonna work. :( Sure you can keep softies and fish in it , but when you really want to get down and serious that tank is going to be to TALL for lighting to reach the bottom. When (if) you decide to keep sps's or clams . I don't want to scare you off, just want you to know from the mistakes (experience) alot of us have made here. Time to save some money and do it right. Good luck ! Keep us posted.

Crap I really like the hieght of the tank. (Large viewing area)
Well I guess I just could place the SPS at a higher level in the tank. Just place some rock to build up the hieght. I like coral alot but beautiful fish are more my thing. I sure I will figure something out. ie. more intense lighting, building taller structure of rock.

    Welcome to 3reef dude.

To those who are lighting gurus. Should the gent get MH for a tall tank? Doesn't seem like he would be able to fit a good array of T5s across that would penetrate as deep.
