I would actually consider mandarins to be hardy fish. With the exception of their dietary needs. Mine has made many stressful trips to and from the overflow. And getting bullied by my six-line thinking it was a new addition everytime I had to pull it from the o-flow.

during those stressful trips does he breath real hard? that I think is what I'm most worried about, well that and he's not eating yet.

i wouldnt worry too much about it. might hide for a few days, think about it, totally new environment, new params too adjust too, thats pretty stressfull for a fragile lil thing like dragonettes and the like. hopefully she pulls out of hiding soon but throwing a bunch of "scary" brine at her right away just might be making it worse. anyways best of luck Gras :)

Yes, labored breathing. Even paled coloration. I've had it so long that I can't remember how the acclimation process ended up. I'm trying to remember if it hid for a while or, just came right out. Maybe check with someone around here that recently got one.

I don't have a mandarin but my scooter blenny wouldn't eat brine shrimp at first [ she did in the store] it took her about a week to adjust to my tank. Then she started to eat like a pig. It might just be an adjustment period.
