Acans were really big, but as mentioned, prices are coming down a bit, at least for more common color morphs. Zoas and Palys had their hayday too IMO, although they may come around. Both those corals always seem to sell well. There are some certain sps that are popular, but many people don't keep sps, or aren't really into it. I'm glad to hear that chalices are beginning to take a back seat. I was so sick and tired of seeing tiny frags go for $200+ easily. Then there was the whole "My Miami" BS. I don't know if there will be a next "it" coral, but I do think that anything labeled as "LE" will sell big time. People always want the best or rarest coral or color morph, even if it's a common color or combination of colors, call LE and give it a cool sound name and it will sell.

I get what you're trying to say, but your really showing your age with this comment. It actually made me laugh.

It may be Acros/Montis. With all the innovations in Reefing like wireless controllers & LED lighting, this'll make it much more easy & practical to take the plunge without frying those acro$.
I'm seeing acro colors & types like never before.

    ("My Miami"......LMAO)

so, we basically have a sponsor asking what he can start charging more for!!!
    ;);):p:p

IMO, there are too many choices out there for my finite sized aquarium to ever justify spending the kind of money on some of these pieces. If it's priced stupid, I just don't buy it.

Color in my tank comes cheap - there is no reason to pay those kinds of moneys on something the size of a quarter.

    To each their own though.

It's like memes, we create the hype and cash in accordingly. So basically which ever coral needs some PR. Let's call something really mundane like leathers or Xenia "ultra, rare or insane" and see what happens.

On Peredhil's comment, I dont think its per say charge more. But as most vendors have to order for their own suppliers, People hate to not be able to move merchandise now a days. I mean for a smaller merchant to buy per example 100 chalice frags because their is a hype. and only be able to sell a few! Thats a hard hit. I think he's more so going with :p what can he get that we will buy lots of :). Reefpets prices are always great. Even if he did start charging more, youd still be doing well. :p

I don't know if they are the "craze" right now, but they are getting much more popular, especially due to their colors and fact that they tend not to move around as much as other anemones. However, they are still pretty expensive right now.
