    Hello,

For aquariums with significant PO4 and NO3 you will reduce the chances of a bacterial "bloom" by adding the ecoBAK incrementally. 1/4 per week is fine.
And the SMR-1/MJ1200/1 L ecoBAK combination is excellent.

    Hello,

2 L of ecoBAK will fit, but make sure that you still have a gentle tumble of the pellets.

    thanks,,

could you or someone that is using ecobak pellets post a video of the ideal tumble im gonna be trying to resemble this week when mine come in...

also should i take my gfo offline when i put the pellets online,,

my water params are not too high, i would honestly like to take the gfo off and run carbon in it, since the pellets are supposed to control both trates and phates.. ive only heard to run GFO with them is if you have super high phosphates..

    Hello,

You will run .75-1 liter of ecoBAK. I'd say 80% of all ecoBAK users are able to stop using GFO. Leave the GFO running alongside the ecoBAK for the first 3-4 weeks and then pull the GFO offline or reduce the amount of GFO. Some people pull the GFO at the start which is fine but you may have a PO4 spike for a few weeks. If you run GFO + ecoBAK it may take a little extra time for the ecoBAK to become active.

Hey Jon..Its been just about about a year now since starting the pellets..and I have not noticed any drop in the amount of pellets used(they are tumbling nicely but not to much)..I tried taking GFO off line..but it always creeps up(0.02 ish, so I run GFO still..I took my fuge of line as my macro kept dying off(expected).. at the moment I have/had 4-5 fish I have feed every other day..any advise..am I doing something wrong or is this normal..Thanks..

    Hello,

Sounds good, relatively low bio load systems will consume less ecoBAK than high load systems. In this situation it would be OK to increase the flow slightly and retest PO4/NO3 in a couple weeks.

    Jon,

How can I run your bio-pellets, but maintain a LNS and not a ULNS?
