The rule of sump filter?

    Hi everyone,

    I always see the reply if someone ask, "what's the sump should be?". A lot of answer would be, "as big as possible." Is that the only rule we should follow?

    Here's a few:

    - most important rule is make sure it will fit wherever you are putting it :)

    -make sure you have height clearance to remove a skimmer cup or get equipment into the sump

    - make sure the sump is large enough to hold the capacity of your overflow when turning your return off or if the power goes out.

    - get one that has the # of chambers you need, esp if you want a refugiem
