As some of you may recall I recently moved and with that move I ended up eliminating one of my two saltwater tanks (no more 29G BC) and moved all of the inhabitants (two clown fish, one tiger pistol, one tuxedo urchin and an array of hermits and snails) into my 45G tank.

That comes to the real story here, both tanks had a tiger pistol that lived inside. Both about the same size with very different personalities.

Orange - right clawed, very outgoing and a constant traveler from side to side. Top to bottom and quite the whacker of snails.

Brown - left clawed, very shy and very rarely seen. Doesn't bother much unless it wanders into his burrow. He lived with a large yellow watchman goby.

I've read more bad than good about housing two pistol shrimp in a relatively small tank (45G).

I thought I would document life with two pistols in the same tank.

This is the tank as it sits. Black backing was torn off during move, coralline algae didn't make it (white patches). Rocks lost all semblance of a "scape" and are now just toss ins.

For the record the 45G when it was originally being put together was build with a pistol shrimp in mind with layers of large flat rock under the sand bed in multiple areas to encourage dig out in some places but not a total collapse of the rock work.

Second note here is that during the move the rock scape had to be taken down and almost literally tossed back in when the tank was put back together so there is no real "theme" or pattern going on.
