    I think it stands a better chance for success if you reduce the animal life.

    Cool idea. I'm going to go smaller and use a burnt out Christmas bulb.

    Seriously, give it a try. I've always been curious about completely closed ecosystems. The biosphere project didn't work. I'm curious how this will turn out.

    It sure is interesting. I agree with the already said point of rising ammonia/nitrites/nitrates.
    Will you/How will you filter the water?

    what type of hermit is it? i had two red hermits in my tank. i added some of the fern caulerpa to my display. within 2 hrs it was completely gone. i only had the 2 crabs in the tanks at this point but they were fed.

    this is very interesting though. i hope u can make it work.

    For the sump, I recommend at the very minimum an external Reeflo Dart pump. :)

    even if it doesn't work its a cool idea... i can tell your a person that thinks inside the bulb or was it outside the box, o heck, you know what i mean. lol.......

    What I would've did and what I though you were going to do is put a single low watt LED as the light source. That would be cool.
