    My friend and I where cleaning his tank and he showed me this fish he had just bought recently... The funny thing was that he actually bought some sort of clam and about two days ago the clam spit the fish out!!!!!!!!!!! :eek:

    I wouldnt post this if i would be lying !

    Hes pretty calm and barely moves around...
    hes always around the power head and mostly comes out during the night !!

    What can it be??!! :confused::confused:

    I don't even know what the heck that thing is.....So does it go back into the clam during the day? Or sleep in the rock work?

    Yeah a Cardinal of some sort, there are hundreds of different types.
    Some Cardinals like to reside around inverts like Sea Urchin spines. I imagine it was just hanging out with it's clam and the clam shut in response to movement with the fish inside.

    Very very cool.

    Following for type of Cardinal.

    Thanks for sharing.

    OMG! That is a White-Tipped Clamfish! They are unbelievably rare- I can't believe you got one. They are actually similar to anemone fish (aka clownfish), but they are actually hosted by large clam species.

    They don't tend to hang around the clam during the day, but they do actually sleep in them at night.

    But in all seriouness, I'm just messing with you... but it is pretty cool. I'll give ya $25 for it, despite the fact that for all I know it could eat all the inhabitants of my tank.
