I stepped outside today and all I hear is this loud buzzing filling the entire woods. I knew this year was supposed to be bad for cicadas but man alive the intensity of them outside right now is a little creepy. I wish I could record it and play it on here. I've heard some crazy things in the woods before but this one takes the cake.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Sounds like bad sound effects from an old sci-fi movie. I just read that the noise can actually do hearing damage. Starts here in AZ next month.

They have taken over here in TN. I like the part in the horror movie when I drive my truck and massacre hundreds of them.;) But I somehow think it's stupidity on their part, they are not very good fliers, considering they just spent well over the last decade in the ground, it kinda makes sense.

Ummm, do you have a fleet of firetrucks full of 409? 6 acres of wooded land can hold a lot of cicadas!
