The tank area seemed oddly quieter...

    Pump suggestion anyone?

So I woke up this morning and fed the fish, it just seemed a bit quieter than usual...

THE SKIMMER ON MY PUMP DIED! GRRRR!!!!!:furious2::angry: :help: :end::dead::uzi::hammer::finger:

It does not help that I am using my one spare pump as a powerhead in a tank that already has way too little flow. I guess I got myself into this so I can't be too angry.

Anyhoo I'm going to deathco to buy something to use in the meantime. It was a Rio 2800 and a few years old, I think they are loud and don't want another. I see a lot of people use the Mag's - is that what I should go with? Any and all input would be wonderful!

Now I'm off to the license branch to renew my license, it's 10 degrees out, and I'm on a mission! What a wonderful morning!

I have heard good things about mags and eheims, I still use a rio. I will probably get a mag when my rio is done.

I'd go with the Sedra KSP-9000 Water pump or the Eheim Universal 1262 Water Pump

MAGs are ok but I've had about 6 fail for no reason

Are Eheim's somewhat quiet? (Relatively speaking that is...)

I like Mags. I have a Mag 9.5 running my skimmer. I have a Rio 2100+ as my return. If I had a choice, I would go Mag. That is the limit of my experience.

Yes, They are very quiet compared to the Mag of equal power. I have used a Eheim on my Calcium reactor and also on my water cooler PC. Hope this helps.
