I bought a hood with two MH (175w) each it also has what looks like two VHO's. This came with two external ballists. One says 175w so I know thats the MH. First question is that big enough for a 90gal? The second ballist says 40w is that enough power to host 2 VHO's or should I put in actinics?

VHO is a type of bulb. You can get actinic VHO's...
What is the ballast and end caps for? VHO? PC? T5?

Not sure have not pulled it out yet. The end caps look like normal fluorescents.

For what you have listed in your sig it is "enough", but enough is relative to what you want to do. What do you have and where do you want to wind up?
