My wife said I can add a 90g 1/4 circle tank on top of my new 185!

We were out yesterday and stopped by a fish store I hadn't been to in a while. They had a large porcupine puffer and she fell in love with it.

I told her that I can't put a porcupine puffer in the reef tank, but she wants one bad enough that she is willing to let me put a second tank in our living room for fish only!

I'm thinking I'd keep the number of fish in it low and run it off the same system as my 185. I've got an overkill skimmer and large enough sump so I look at it as really just extra water volume and extra space for more live rock. The new Dart pump I got should be able to pump the volume I need.

The other possibility is to go crustacean-less in my main (with the exception of hermits) and put it in there for now, but I'm not sure I want to do that.

    Congrats!!!

Two tanks is the best option. Puffers not only eat crustaceans. They also eat stony corals and live rock to keep their teeth ground down.

Porcupine puffers are fun. They have a personality and are almost like a puppy dog.

Rocketmandb I say you must have a wonderful wife. A 90 on top of a 185. Congrats and good luck with the build.
