does anyone know the purposes of K and its overall importance?
how it binds to other elements?
what is the toxicity level of specific corals?
what is the consumption rate of specific corals?

ive already done research on this matter, just picking everybody's brain.

the only thing that I can tell you, and you probably already know this, but it a positive ion in solution, as is calcium, magnesium carbonates. It bonds very agressively. I have no idea how you would even find out the toxicity level for corals and such

My understanding of K, and its supplementation, is mainly for coloration of certain hard corals (mainly SPS). Potassium is used by red/pink SPS to aid in keeping their coloration. However, normal water changes are definitely enough to keep these SPS happy in terms of available potassium. This is somewhat similar to how iron supplements are important to green SPS.
