Not gonna shoot his dad? I'm pretty sure Carl had the gun up and leveled before Shane even got up. If I'm wrong, somebody please correct me.

I just heard about this show. Looks like I will have a marathon this week!

 

I was curious about that as well, it is difficult to say whether he did or not. The editors were really getting sneaky with that scene and it seems unclear IMO.

If you look at it again, you definitely see Carl raise the gun making the viewer (along with Rick) think that he is aiming it at Rick, but you don't see Shane in the shot at all so you don't know if he is still laying down. But then right after Carl raises the gun, the angle changes and you see it from behind the spot where Shane is laying down (but you still don't see Shane ). You then see Shane entering the shot as he stands up, but you never actually see him sitting up and getting up off the ground. Seeing as Zombies are not terribly limber, the sitting up and getting on their knees to stand is probably a labored process.

To me this suggests that Carl saw Shane starting to get up (but the viewer didn't) and he raised the gun in response.

Not sure if that makes any sense lol, I wish i could find a GIF of the scene.

It just seems highly unlikely that Carl would raise the gun at his dad, there is no indication that he has any ill will towards him.

Also In the sneak peak for next week, Carl asks if Shane was bit by a zombie because he didn't see one which suggests that he doesn't think Rick murdered him. He may think that Shane was already a walker.

Holy christ though, Lori's gotta keep a better eye on that kid!

EDIT: and yeah it does seem the doctor at the CDC whispered to Rick that the virus was airborne...atleast that is the general consensus online

 

am I the only one that feels bad for shane?
I know he was kind of a jerk, but I thought he was a bad ass! lol kinda sad the way it went.

One thing that I was wondering is why did he get stabbed. That was a low move if you ask me. I thought they were just going to let it go, and move on.

I also think that they probably do have the virus inside, before shane died he was having some sort of flashbacks and he was acting really weird. Especially before he hit himself on the tree. ( he was also all looney for a while).

 

Remember Carl is always sitting in the barn lookout so he prob was watching the whole thing go down. That's why/how he came to be there!

I agree with the whole Carl trying to kill Rick thing. I have the episode downloaded and I rewatched the last few minutes, and you're right. Carl does have the gun raised and when you see Shane pop up, Carl is already pointing the gun. But you don't know if Carl sees zombie Shane scuffling on the floor or not.

 

Bottom line- shanes dead, and im happy.
