I do feel like he got the shaft with Lori when Rick returned, it must have really messed him up. And I do think that he had the groups best intentions in mind with all his decisions, but he had to go. You can't have two alphas in the group and shane was too unstable.

What shane did was a terrible thing and he deserved to get stabbed by Rick IMO.

I know! I think I may get the graphic novels and read them in between seasons.

They are planning on introducing a character next season called 'The Governor' who plays pretty prominently in the novels, so I may check it out to carry me over.

 

The virus is airborne. Everyone already has the virus. The virus only reanimates dead cells. So you do not become "infected" untill you die. As long as you die without severe brain trama everyone comes back as a zombie. If you remember at the CDC how the guy whispered something into ricks ear, i believe he was telling him this, and rick kept it to himself so as the group would not lose hope. (he tested their blood).

Also, the change happens very quickly if you look back at the previous deaths in the group, yes it may take a while for you to die from the fever, but after you die you pretty much change immediately. From what i have gathered a bite contains a higher more potent strain of the virus, wich can cause you to have a fever, and ultimately kill you, but just carrying the airborne strain will not itself kill you, just re animate you after you die.

 

Uh oh, I know what happens with the "Governor" from the comics. I will not spoil it for you guys ;D

 

Yeah I have been reading some of the walking dead Wiki, so i am starting to understand what kind of character the governor is. Should make for an interesting season to say the least. I imagine that the show will stray a bit from the story in regards to the governor as there is some pretty gruesome stuff that goes down.

It seems that the TV show is loosely following the story line in general with some small but significant differences. In the comic, Shane is killed before they even get to the farm and Carl shoots him while he is alive instead of as a Zombie.

So I think that while the show will be introducing the same characters, the writers will stray a little bit from the comics to create there own storyline and plot twists.

 

I definitely dont' feel bad for Shane he was a jack#$%@

 

Yeah I just discovered a little while back as well. Just downloaded the episodes I missed and I will be cathing up

ARRRggggg ..... AMC is in negotiations with my local cable provider and threatening to terminate their contract this Wed. which means ... no Walking Dead finale ... REALLY AMC!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!

They are basically holding the viewers hostage and demanding a 100% increase in the payments they receive from our cable provider and using the season finale as leverage.

Pretty underhanded if you ask me .... Screw AMC!

I'll just have to wait for the DVD's.
