It may be dropping out of solution.Ideally Mag. should be roughly three times your calcium value. FWIW I have raised Mag. levels very quickly with no apparent damage done.I don't think you will see any ill effects from the drop but have never experienced it to my knowledge. You may want to increase your salinity a little to 1.025 it will make it easier to sustain those numbers and give you more leeway when dosing.:)
Are you dosing anything for Mag.?

Calcium 400 ( Was away and did not have wife dose this)
    PH avg 8.06
    Temp Average 78.2
    Mag 1500

Lens on camera broke (not sure how it was working when I put it in and not working when I go to use it again). A piece fell out so it will no longer focus.. Glad it is just the lens. The wife will make out on this 1. Need to do some research.

Had an old lens not as good.
Looking at possible replacement lens for the broken 1. Anyone have any experience with Tamron Lenses?

    1 month mark..

Thanks DSC. Sometimes you just do not realize how much things grow until you go back and look at the original frags.. I am however amazed it the growth on these 2.
    My hawkins is very slow.

Next step is to start working in kalk to see if I can help stabilize things.
Also keeping my eye out for deals on dosing units. Not sure if I want to go with a 3 pump unit or not.

I wish I could do a dosing pump. It would make life easier. I've lowered my alk down from 10 to 8dkh in a weeks time and so far in past few weeks I've noticed actual color improvements. If only I had a camera that could take real pics.

Your wife's tank is beautiful. The growth shots are amazing. I need to get a camera quickly and do progression shots.

Thanks Bruh.. Yes you do need to get a nice camera for your tank. It is really neat to be able to do side by side comparison. Everyone always complains about growth but I think since we see our own tanks everyday you do not notice it. Progression shots have made me realize things are actually growing pretty well.

Ordered up some Valentine day tank presents for the wife. Sold 1 of my other tanks so that helped cover the new equipment.
Jebao dosing pump dp-4 (because I am sick of setting up manual dosing twice a day).
two little fishies kalkwasser stirrer/reactor 300. Plan on running this off my ATO.
Some extra miscellaneous stuff I needed

Also did get myself a tunze 3152 for my 30gal.

One note of interest is someone has a thread that mentioned GFO causing cyano. I would not say I was battling it but would get small little patches in a couple spots. Did a little more reading and in another thread someone mentioned possible leaching of gfo causing pockets of cyano. Well I turned my reactor off a week ago after last WC and no cyano has popped up. Interesting to say the least. Will let system run without reactor on for next couple weeks to see what happens. The reactor is the innovative unit that fits inside the back section of tank.
