The blues are running higher than white. Got the blues maxing out at 75% during peak hours. I increased intensity of the lighting a week ago so 1 more week of acclimation and observation and will make the next increase.

Generally I have increased each half hour increment by approximately 5 points.

Thinking of doing another 5gal WC tonight which should help decrease the ALK(possibly?slightly? hopefully) and increase the CAL and MAG to some extent.

Just a couple months ago I was testing the hell out of this system daily  frustrated to hell with the fluctuations.
With the Kalk I test once a week or so.

Last couple weeks I have noticed the ALK is running on high end. I know my birdsnest is pissed as hell right now. I think the ATO pump adjustment is running a little high and stirring up to much kalk?? maybe I don't know but It certainly did increase the saturation. Also I was adding 2TSP weekly to the kalk reactor so probably should cut that back to 1.5 TSP

Also may need to go to a 10gl WC as I know that the alk is only 9.0 range in fresh batch(will need to test that again) which should help reduce the alk.

    Were we separated at birth?

What are the whites running at, do you have UV?

    whites are peaking at 55%
    No UV
We probably fell off the same tree somewhere along the line. If you are Irish, French, English, Italian and a little bit of this and that ya we are related ha ha ha.

Well our tanks were separated at birth, but yours is much nicer. Same problems.

I keep thinking "well this will be the thread or information I need to make it all right" yeah no. If I send my water in to Triton than I have totally lost it.

I am running my whites 50 so about the same, it's working. My numbers have been decent with no dosing just water changes for now so I have backed off. I may have a pH issue though, nice especially after I espoused the belief that you really only need to look at alk, and another one bites Cheryl in the ........pH probe will be here tomorrow lol.

Try doing small water changes daily. Like a gallon so you don't reduce the Alk too much all at one time.

Ok so update. Living and learning!!!! Boooo !!! ha ha

Anyways as alot of you know I have in the last month + started using kalk. Things have been great but I poked the sleeping dog and it bit me. I added probably a tbsp or so too much kalk and it has taken a major toll on my Orange and green birdsnest(lost most frags and main colony has some major damage), cyphastrea had a little burning, and my hawkins(damn this was looking nice). All the other corals seem to have made it through the swing.
Still love the kalk I just screwed up which is not uncommon for me.
I had done a 10gal WC last week and let things play and did not add the weekly 1.5 tbsp

    SG 1.025
PH 7.76 at night 8.05 range during the day.. back to the low PH without addition of kalk but was needed so I could let ALK come down
    DKH 8.8
MAG 1360 (this is getting used more and more with the kalk so need to figured out dosing on this and guess I will get the dosing pump setup
    CAL 380

Did end up adding tbsp of kalk yesterday after testing(tests above from yesterday). Also need to get my 5gal wc done.

Also I have finally had it with my small innovative gfo reactor.. just does not run efficiently and the gfo cakes up no matter what I have tried. Might as well just put it in a mesh bag if I am going to use GFO which will do same thing the reactor is doing.
