I was finally able to see the pictures of this thread. The tank is looking very nice! How did the fuge light work out for you? I have been thinking about getting one. Does it blead through the black acrylic when the dt lights are out?

 

Well just got the chaeto couple days ago so will see how that goes and interested to test the nitrates and see what difference it makes. No bleed through that I have noticed and in the bedroom so I (should have noticed) as it comes on before I go to sleep.

 

Very nice. Thank you. I may have to get one eventually. There are a few other things I need to get first but I really like how that one looks. I will be curious to see how well it grows the algae back there.

 

last coral removed from from my 130D and added to wife collection. A nice Brain Coral. 130D will start its new life as a QT once it has received a good cleaning.

 

Checked params today since chaeto has been in about a week. Also had removed the filter pads and did a water change yesterday.
Before chaeto the nitrate was pretty consistent around 5ppm today reading 0

KH 9
Mag 1275

Dosed 20g over a few hours which should increase it by about 20mg. Will be doing this until I get to 1350. Then will start doing a daily check on this so I know what I will need to start dosing.

Calcium and kh seem to be pretty steady with the 5gl weekly water changes.

Finally added the base rock in which I had sitting in a bucket of wife tank water and running with airstones.
