While that is a BEAUTIFUL coral, it looks like a favia/LPS to me, IMHO. I guess maybe they are one in the same?

    Agree

Basically Brain coral is a common name given to corals in the family Faviidae
The below was a description I found on salty underground website. I thought it summed it up nicely.

Favia corals are fairly common LPS coral in a lot of reef aquariums and in nature. Some of the species most often found are Favia rosaria, Favia matthaii, Favia lizardensis, Favia stelligera, and many others. The common names for Favia corals include, moon coral, green moon coral, pineapple coral, brain coral, closed brain coral, and star coral. They are in the Faviidae family of corals.

    Funny
Even Marine depot has different section for brain itself and should reside under favia

We got it from our LFS (40min drive but worth it). WE get most of our stuff from them so they usually give us good prices.

    Agree Marshall they are nice

Great looking tank! How are you and the wife liking the Evergrow IT2040? I ask cause I am debating switching to that from the Kessil A350W. Your tank looks spectacular with that light and the corals look healthy.
