Here are some better pics of the stand. The sides are covered in 1" stainless steel tiles. The top and the stripe in the front are 1" glass tile, and the doors are cabinet doors that we got from Ikea.

It's trimmed with pvc trim that is painted gloss black and attached with silicone.

I picked up the glass, and your measurements were perfect! They fit in exactly like I need them to. I will likely start build out this weekend on it....I hope. My in wall build is a bit behind schedule due to some construction delays. We are knocking out walls and building other areas of the basement out as well, and the contractor is behind. The plan is for the tank to be in the wall by Friday. So the sump build may not happen this weekend. We shall see. Regardless thanks for your help, your measurements were exactly what I needed.

Awesome. Looking forward to reading up on your build. Sounds like it's gonna be pretty sweet.

The work on your stand is beautiful. Now you have stepped the standards up. How can someone top that?

Thanks Bruh! I really appreciate that. The tile is great at covering up an almost complete lack of finished carpentry skills. :)

Water finally cleared up enough to get a picture of the aquascape...

Lesson learned: rinse your sand (unless live)!!!

There's about 60 lbs of Marco Rock and 40lb Marco Sand in the DT. I have another 40 lbs of rock and 40 lbs of sand in the fuge. The rocks are sitting on 1.5" sections of 1.5" PVC to keep them out of the sand (idea shamelessly stolen from 2in10).

    Whaddya think?

Looks great - only question I have is can you fit your hand, and an algae pad between the rocks and the glass on the side walls. Hard to tell from the picture. I ask because I can not on one side of my current tank - and it drives me crazy every time I have to clean in there. I really like the idea of proping the rocks up on 1.5" PVC...I may have to borrow that Idea too!..Also...there are some spooky eyes in the picture!

Thank you, sir. There is about a 3" gap between the rock and the side glass so we're good there. There is also about a 4" gap between the rock and the back glass. I'm gonna try and keep the back glass clean (we'll see how long I keep that up ;D ).

Those spooky eyes are the very rare invisifish!
