These pumps are outstanding for the price. I ran 2 of them for a week to see how they would compare to my two MP40s, and I ended up selling the MP40s.

They push as much water, in fact they push more water, are quieter, can tilt in any direction, and have similar wave modes.

Then, within weeks, the DIY community figured out how to control flow, and how to connect them to any reef controller. They're running synched off my apex now, something I couldn't do unless I spent another $125 for a WXM on my MP40s.

You can spend $1000+ for two pumps to push water connected to a reef controller

    or

You can spend $250 for two pumps to push water connected to a reef controller

Simple decision. They've been running flawlessly on my reef for over a month.

For those interested I found out that the smaller WP25 will be out at the end of April.

I got some info on the Jebao WP25 directly from Jebao.

    This is from Wystan Jebao...
He included a picture and a video.
The WP40 is on the left and the WP25 is on the right.

Here is a video from their testing.

I created a thread for the WP25 here...

bhazard, what did you do to get them to run off your apex? I know people have been able to run them on reef keepers and angels, but i hadn't heard about them being synced to an apex! Also, are you just using the voltage controller to regulate flow?

You don't need the variable voltage power supply when connected to a reef controller. The controller handles the intensity.

There are two options. A reef angel cable with a slight mod to it works. This is the easiest option, as you just toss aside the Jebao controller box.

Another option is installing a 0-10v PWM board into the Jebao box. It involves splicing wires, but keeps the Jebao modes like ELSE mode available while using the apex. This is my favorite apex option.

I'll copy over tutorials for both.

Or.........you just use the options that come with the pump. Most of the time I tinker with stuff but this thing just seems to work fine. The only thing that drives me crazy is the night sensor. With that being said, my tank is in my living room and my kitchen light stays on all night and gives it just enough light to stay in night mode. It's really not that big of a deal.

Its been a while since I updated this thread. Things are going super great with this pump. I certainly have not regretted the purchase.

Announcement. One of the controller companies is now offering a stand alone WP40 with attachment cable on their web site.

I don't want to say who or give a link for fear of getting the thread closed, but this company was very instrument in determining if the WP40 can be controlled by a controller.
