Well, a friend lent me a spare t5 setup he had laying around. I borrowed the par meter from the local club and the way the old leds are, it was spotty, literally spotty. I would get 300par and then move over 2" and be at 80. So, hanging around was this fixture he had picked up used with a setup.
    Plan:
more consistent amount of light over the tank: done
more par: done (matched what I currently have & reduced photoperiod)
ramp up the par: the light is now referred to the tanning bed. It's 11/12" off the tank...

I don't have much for pictures, I didn't get the light installed until 11pm tuesday night. Last night, I was out with some friends, one is moving away. So, I really haven't had a chance to check out everything, yet.
I did get a text last night asking if I could turn off the tanning bed. haha

just some quick cell snaps. I am excited to see how this affects the coral and hopefully in a good way! :D

Nice light, too! 6 bulb ati...

They are also ATIs, a couple purple pluses, blue pluses, coral plus and two aquablue somethings. We don't know the life of the bulbs... So... I'm not sure if I'm going to replace any, It's more temporary for some extra par until the new leds get here (forever, it seems; impatient, I am). I offered it up to my buddy, but he said not to worry about it.

this will be the first time my tank will be under T5s. I maintain a buddy's tank with T5s and had a little "event" when I turned back on his T5s after a wiring mishap. After I left, the owner did something and 4, 48" T5s were on for 24-48 hours. I go over there every week and the next week, everything was WHITE, then it was my face! Then he asked if I could look at his timers. We lost only a couple corals, nothing crazy, some sticks are a little worse for wear, but are bouncing back. It took about 2 months of slowly bringing up the time to get to this point, still ramping up every other week.

I was also going to go with a "Can-can" dancing type of joke, but it wasn't working  :D

I also changed the lighting schedule to further slowly introduce my corals to more par. I put 2 bulbs on for all of the day and then all 6 bulbs on for 3 hours and then I'll ramp that up a few hours and then sometime bring the light down a little. We'll see where we are by then!

    Thank you, sir!

I so have to say, I think I heard sirens? I think I heard... oh no.... the tang police.

**Disclaimer** I do know he will outgrow this tank. Currently he is happy and the most active swimmer of the bunch and I am in LOVE. He is like a puppy...

Also, that's not the only other fish I "acquired", more later. I figured I get the tang police out of the way! :D
