That tang will live happy in there for years to come zesty. The only reason I got rid of mine was that she kept ripping off glued frags that were in her swim path. I still have my purple tang in my 75 and he's not going anywhere

I'm taking a step to challenge myself here. I have a tomini tang who I've had for a while, happy, healthy and somewhat shy. I kept going to visit local reefs and they are all keeping healthy looking tangs in their tanks that aren't to the "tang standard" but they have all been appropriate sized and the owners all knew it wasn't permanent. But, they all had swimming room.
So, I talked to the owner at my LFS and was discussing adding 2 tangs to make a trio and get some active swimmers in the tank. Well, the hepatus tang come up and I was like, wait Todd has on that is as big as my forearm. He laughed and said, there's a 60 g display tank that's had a baby hepatus in there for 2 years and it was only 2-3" barely.
So, that made me feel much more at ease. I knew they were really great fish.
I know where this one came from and I know the previous owner who had this fish and one of the others I got. So, knowing where they came from was also a great boost of confidence as I knew these guys didn't mess around. I can't wait to get out my camera, but I want them to get comfy first.

So, my challenge is staying on top of more fish, more waste, more husbandry.

Thanks!! ;) funny is after this picture was taken, I went to another local reefer and took some pictures and came home with a dozen good sticks. I can't even remember the names of them. However, he had some BEAUTIFUL montis... :( he kept starting to offer me some, superman, mystic, sand dollar, ugh.... but the pictures are nice!!!

So, once I get those pictures processed, i'll post em over here.

I'll go find the other fish pictures.

Here is the fish that started it all. Once I started watching him in the tank at the place, I saw he was a hungry/healthy bugger.

Eats frozen, was the first fish out in the tank searching the rocks for food! So excited!

As long as you keep the motto of more fish more waste and more husbandry than you'll be fine. It's my motto as well buddy

I'm actually going for the more fish, more coral food, more husbandry! but I'm just being picky! :D

One of my goals is an auto water change system. I've been gathering parts for it... I'm just still planning/gathering. However, that is another part of my increased husbandry is automate the water changes!

What a cool fish! Fire hawk steve needs to learn some new tricks... haha
I love watching this guy maneuver in whatever direction it takes to get his prey. I was watching him swimming on his side, looking up underneath some rock and pecking at some worms or feathers. Then he just swam thru a little cranny and he was back swimming around the rockwork looking for the next angle of attack! I can see how his body shape helps his feeding habits.
