    I also have this one. Right above it, I have one of those stick-on things, just to make sure the readings are consistent. So far, so good.

    Just so everyone knows, the thermometers have not had mercury in them for a long time. The media is alcohol and red dye.

    That is what I thought I still have some mercury thermometers but they are really old. I don't use them but to look at.

    Lead sticks to brain cells in humans so I would have to say they would slowly start to not be able to read or drive cars or give answers to complex problems LOL. Seriously Lead can stick to there cells and it is posious in that way. They will evently die from lead posioning. The would have to injest it though. Don't know if lead will disolve an polute the whole tank or not.

    coralife its cheap and t i pretty accurate i use four and have used them for years never any problems
