    Since you don't have anything in there for the algae to smother you could just let it grow. If you let it grow and suck it out with a turkey baster you'll be removing quite a bit of nutrients.

    i dont think i have a turkey baster, but i could probably buy one

    They are great to have! You can use it to remove things, take water samples and blast detritus off rocks.

    What's so bad about it? When your parameters stabilize it will clear itself out. Think of it as sort of a reverse canary in the coal mine. When the bacteria goes away you'll know your parameters are getting better.

    so just let the cycle finish, do water changes, and eventually it'll go? well if you say so. and why would i be a sports announcer? although it does sound like fun lol

    oh yeah i also forgot i have a powerhead running at 250 gph so should i put it in?

    As long as it doesn't blast anything too much or cause a sandstorm. Flow may help a little with the Cyano.
