    yeah im working on breaking this large piece i have but i have a very light hammer which just made the surface smooth lol. anyway here's the current pic

    well look at that! I've got ammonia down to 0! now to check nitrites...

    that rocks not all that bad, better than dead coral skeletons and fake plants.

    well my test kit reads 0 ammonia and 0 nitrite... cycle ends after a week and a half? now to test for nitrate...

    That's strange that your cycle has appeared to have ended so quickly. But didn't you use the sand from your old tank? The same goes for the rock. It's possible. If everything is from another tank, you may have just had a mini-cycle and you can be on your way.

    my 265G cycled in about a week because I used live sand and all my cured rock from both of my old tanks..so in a 10G i'd say its a definite possibility

    quick cycle is definately possible, especially if you used old sand rock and several gallons of old saltwater.

    Mine seems to be doing the same. I moved, but kept the tank and purt some water/rocks all in buckets. I got new sand and about 15 lbs of dry rock. When I was ready I set it back up again. After 2 weeks of "cycling" all I have seen is a bit of hair algae on one shell, and some diatoms. I am about to test the water parameters.

    well yes everything was from my 29 gallon... both rock and sand... so i guess my cycle is over? cool. but when i get home im gonna check again to make sure
