You could always call and ask them to order a certain species for you. It's worth a shot.

that sounds like an unreliable LFS. is it locally owned or is it a chain? the owners to my LFS go to Miami every week and pick livestock. I could probably order something as rare as a Black tang, and they'd search as hard as they can for one.

Could always google it. I found a place called Preuss Pets in Lansing by doing this. Its a little far for me(1.5 hours) but well worth it as they QT all livestock and are by far the most knowledgeable LFS around me. Try looking for fish stores in your neck of the woods.

Or you could go old school and use a "phonebook," if you can find one anymore.

    Either way, good luck.

So I went to the LFS today and i saw a very nice blood shrimp for $40... kind of pricey but it has a very nice red color to it. Decided not to buy it... yet. As for fish there wasn't much to choose from. Usually new shipments arrive tuesdays, so I might go again tomorrow. They had a few bangghai cardinals, a gramma with ick, an emperor angel in a 40 gallon... no comment there. I actually saw a nice fish called a black algae blenny... I'm pretty sure thats not the real name. I would've gotten it but only one problem: also $40... and they were out of firefish too. But on the bright side I bought some brine and "hand-fed" by hermit crab. Well its more like i scare my maroon clownfish away from the live brine, pick up my hermit crab, put him next to a shrimp, and he eats it. It's so cool and the shrimp is squirming lol. Also made a really big cave out of 3 rocks for fish and shrimp to go in during the day if there nocturnal. Pics to come soon...
