So I did my first water change: 1 gallon. Guess this kicks off the schedule for WC's every week. just used reef crystals and put the salinity of the new water to 1.025, which seems pretty decent. Other then that i turned on my powerhead and its just really cloudy. Hopefully it clears up by tomorrow or later on today. As for tomorrow...
My dad says he'll take me to a fish store i go on occassion. I probably told Seano about it... They sell exotic stuff like sharks, rays, and the occasional guitarfish! So I'm gonna go see what they have. I really would like to return my maroon or sell it... a shame i cant get a fish tomorrow since my bioload is adjusting to 2 fish right now. Don't want ammonia getting out of hand already in a 10 gallon...

Looks good buddy!- just getting caught up ;)

If I only knew half of what you do now many years ago when I tried keeping a 10 gallon SW! (I was probably about your current age or a bit younger)I killed everything.

Did you decide on lighting yet?
I have to strongly recommend the LED route...no bulbs to change every few months and you could use them on your bio-cube or larger tank for the future ;)

Oh and have fun at the store today even if you can't buy any new fish :)

How long are his arms? He's only 14 right? The 90g is pretty deep, don't want the poor kid falling in. Can see the headlines now "boy drowns in aquarium" :gossip:

    j/k ;D

lol, my 75g tank is 32" tall and I haven't drowned yet. 90g is 24". bigger might be pricier, but you get more fun out of it, not being limited to a lot of fish.

Thanks. I'm still deciding on lights; I'll get some soon enough, im sure of that. I actually am going to the store tomorrow since we're visiting my brother at his college today so it's far away from the store. At least we'll go tomorrow ;D

LOL that would really suck. But if i was inside of it at least i could get a fish's perspective inside of the tank before i drowned lol

Agreed. Just sticking with the 10 for now. If I get my biocube back and it gets fixed then I'll most likely put the 10 gallon somewhere in my room. How much does dry sand cost? I'd rather usse that instead of getting 20 lbs of live sand for $40... again a total rip. I'd just seed that with the LS from my 10 gallon for my 29; then maybe i could add that onyx percula pair i've always wanted :)

If you want white sand, I would get it from a guy on ebay, he gets his sand from Fiji.
    45LB WHITE FIJI AQUACULTURED LIVE SAND + ROTIFERS !! #1 - eBay (item 250559022802 end time Jan-30-11 13:47:54 PST)
I have the sand and it's really good.

so in regards to the 3reef card competition i lost because i was at my LFS and didnt have time to look lol but i did get myself a firefish. Currently acclimating right now; he was in a tank where other firefish were getting beat up by some sort of tang. the tang killed 3 and was killing 2 when i got there. all the fish seemed stressed so im pretty sure theres no ick; all fish were being attacked at least once or twice by that tang. Anyway pics to come later on
