ok now he's dying??? nitrates are 20 in my tank but even in the bag he was acting strangely. I'm thinking it's how the idiot emplyee took the fish out. He just put in a giant net and just threw the fish in the container like a piece of crap. Also i didnt notice it before but the fish has a few scrapes near his tail... Damn it. Let the mistrust between me and my dad commence once again. I'm thinking it cant be my water; if my algae blenny, maroon clown, and peppermint shrimp which i worried about so much about acclimation are still alive, then this firefish must have had issues. I'm thinking too much stress from being bullied and from transportation... Well at least it was $11 so not too much. He's barely alive and is just letting the powerhead take him around the tank. Damn this really sucks...

 

that does suck, nest time dont get a bullied fish, ive made that mistake. get really healthy ones. it must have been sick at the store

That sucks, why would you buy him in the first place?

 

probaly the same reason any of us would, You want to save him.

 

that sucks but to me i think its a lot better then all tis ammonia. i no your tank is had already cycaled and i dont want to start a fight, but you relly need to slow down. i dont have 3 fish in my 26 and you aslo have a pep in their two. i wouldent even go to ur LFS untill the two fish you have are gone. that tank is already WAY overstocked as is.

 

I have no ammonia and im not taking things too quickly. Sure i would have had 3 fish but i doubt that i'd be overstocking it completely. besides the peppermint hardly affects the bioload, and i already told you that im still trying to get rid of my fish. You couldn't take'm, and my tank leaked too, so don't blame me...

when i first got into this hobbt, i had a snowflake, niger trigger, koran, blueface, and imperator angel, kole tang, foxface, and a panther grouper in a 55 gallon tank. i was young and stupid and have learned much since. i sold the tank and started all over. but i dont think your way overstocked

you can do a tank two ways, one way where it is very natural with only two or three fish, or the other where it is packed full and no fish has any territory or what not, this is what the petstores do and it is not reccomended for any tank.

 

Yeah im thinking 3 maximum or 2 just to keep a good limit. I'm not trying to overstock... I'd just like to get rid of my maroon clown and algae blenny so I could get fish that could actually live well in a 10g
