so, you put all of your rock in a bucket, Drained the water down to what we see in the photo? just a little confused by teh bucket in there.

I simply replied and told you what DSB was since you asked the question. that part of the reply was really not directed at you, but at another poster.

now that we have all of that out of the way....

moving the rock can disturb it and can actually cause more harm than good. your tank is fairly new. relax, take it slow and easy and it will get there. it will not happen over night nor in 4 months. Once you get the RO/Di in , that will make the biggest difference.

Well yeah I kind of have a plan.
    1. ro.di unit gets srrives
    2. Fill up the rest of the tank with ro/di water (fill up from what is seen in the pic)
    3. Check my parameters to see if I need to cycle again
    4. Arrange my LR
    5. Wait about a month and start over

I do have a cycled quarantine... for the fish...... I could also add the corals but I only have fluorescent lighting for the other tank.

Well I finally got my RO/DI unit and it's pretty awesome. only downsides are that it takes FOREVER to get the RO water. right now the TDS indicates only 7ppm which is pretty good, but what really tinks is that this is me just i guess flushing out the system. i have to dump all that ro water and then start again ......:-/ but anyway is it true that like 1 gallon of RO water = 3 gallons of waste water? Other than that operation: save my tank is starting to take effect lol

That is a good ratio. and yeah it should be dumped. Normal for starting up.

thanks 2in10. Well I'm pretty damn impatient lol but I kinda have a bit of an idea. How bout I just use regular dechlorinated tap water and fill up the remaining 6 gallons with RO water and then just use ro water for all my water changes?
