Id please and treatment. Just notice the top two polyps of this small colony closed up today. Don't see any on any other corals yet but they are really small. Will keep trying to get a better pic while you guys take a look at these. Like small elongated worms or bugs, very quick, and seem to stay only on these zoas, clear with a black dot like head. Thanks in advance

I am thinking a freshwater dip would be in order, but i would wait for confirmation from others who are better with corals. My solution is just an educated guess.

Where are the big dogs when you need em? I pm'ed geek but he must not be around, I think this is sort of his thing. Anyway, how long would you dip in RO/DI if I decide to give it a try?

Are you sure they're not just copepods accidentally shocking your zoas?

i kind of doubt it, although anything is possible, ive seen my pods jump all over my corals and i dont think ive ever whitnessed them closing like that, maybe shrink a bit but not fully closed, im still saying nudi's or some type of pest.

That was my thought. I have seen some of my pods go across or stay on some of my zoa's, and they will close up.
That being said, still not sure if thats what's going on. Kinda hard to even ID what exactly is on those.

Those are a type of isopod... I had problem with them once, Im still not sure if they were killing the polyps or eating dead ones.

Here is a pic of mine...

Thanks geek, and everyone else who weighed in. Guess I should just watch them for a few days, they have been closed only about 24hrs now and the outside flesh of the polyp looks good, Did you ever treat with anything to get rid of them or just wait it out?

Isopods are known irritators, but not known to eat dead or dieing zoa's. My pic shows other wise. Its just unknown what killed the zoa's because everything was healthy when that happened, and the other pices from that same colony are doing great still to this day.
