Think i found out why my corals were bleaching.

So by luck I had an apointment today so i stayed home an hour later. I usually leave at 6am. Realized the blue leds were coming on at 7am and staying on untill 10pm! AHH. the whites i had set up to come on at noon-9pm. And i thought i had set the blues to go from 11am-10pm.

So 16hrs of light! No wonder even half way down at 50% blue they were bleaching acros! yikes!

well now my parameters and light cycle is set right. Hopefully my tank will start to not kill corals!

i feel stupid.

 

don't feel stupid, I'm too intimidated by automating things that I still do everything myself now I know that's stupid

 

Simple mistake that anyone could make.I'm still dealing with a sort of learning curve with my LEDs as well.Mine is the 120watt razor,I have blues ramping up for anhour to 65% for 9hrs then back down,so a total of 11hrs and the whites ramp up for an hour to 45% for 7hrs then back down so a total of 9hrs.I had raised them gradually to 60% whites and 75% blues and fried a couple of frags.Everything seem to be doing better since I turned them down but now I don't know if I should leave them set where they are or try increasing a little.

 

Yea i never realized how powerful these lights are! i have the 120w reefbreeders fixture. I mean they are 12" above water level. and then i had HIGH light acros, mid way down my 21" tank. And they were bleaching. Yikes! leds are super strong i gotta be more careful!
