think i killed my firefish

i think i may have possibly killed my helfrichi firefish when moving around the rocks to get the chromis its been about an hour and he still hasnt come out of hiding, i think i may have accidently sat a rock on him without knowing im hoping he's still just hiding, im going to feed right and hope he comes out and if he doesnt i dont know im just really sad right now

 

Those suckers are fast. My bet is he's hiding. My clown goby hid for a few hours after I had moved around the rocks a few months ago.

 

It is pretty hard to set a rock on top of a fish. They are too fast for that...just ask the Chromis you were trying to catch. Firefish can hide WELL!!! Just give it time you will be OK.

 

he is probably just hiding.. remember that firefish are pretty clever when hiding.. they fit in the tiniest hole.. so i would just wait.. im pretty sure he is just hiding

my firefish's hiding spot is a whole smaller than the diameter of my pinky finger.. so.. yeah..

 

I'm sure he's just hiding!! Don't panic!!

Not to make matters worse, but look around your tank...make sure he did not jump while you were moving rocks. You may have scared him.

 

PS.. when my firefish gets spooked... he gets into that whole faster than i can blink.. he is ridiculously fast to get in his hiding spot so i doubt you could have done that...

 

An hour isn't very long, just hold tight, I'm sure he'll show up. I had a Scooter blenny disappear for 3 days, even moved rocks around couldn't find him. Figured he was a goner, woke up one morning and there he was to say hello.

 

Give him some time, you will find him. My firefish has been here so long he no longer hides when I move rocks. 1st few times he hid for a good 4-6 hours.
