think i killed my firefish

yea when i first introduced him into my tank it took him an entire month to come out of the rocks and that was when it was just him and the clowns

 

I had to break down my entire tank twice due to flooding my carpet. Once from a broken seal on my sump, and once from an undetermined issue with my overflow box. Drained the tank, took out all the coral, rock and all fish/invert except my purple firefish on both occasions. He found some spot in a hole in some rock both times and sat in tubs for the whole cleanup process, a day each, and a day or two after putting everything back. Once he was comfortable he came back out to eat. His peak hide time in a rock due to these events was 3 days. He's now a happy fish, but still hides a lot. Yours is fine, I'm sure.

 

wow your firefish went through a lot! im hoping that will be the same case with mine, and i didnt really move the rock around that much, just tweaked a couple around, im wondering if it was more so the net that scared him more so than the changing the rock, cause ive changed the rockscape quite a few times with him in there and he had no problem, but the net was something totally new

 

Im hoping your firefish is okay today. The last time I did some remodeling, my firefish darted under the rocks and I didnt see him for two days. I thought I had done something to him because I had completely moved all the rocks and he didnt show up. Then suddenly, he came out. They are really reclusive when they get spooked. Hopefully yours is as good of a hider as mine.

 

sometimes my red firefish will just disappear for weeks. Only come out when I'm not home or something. They are smart enough to avoid a bashing rock. Mine is starting to become very personable. It is even allowing me to hold it while my hands are in the tank.
