Yeah, the problem is that Anemones require very stable parameters, which you definitely will not have during the cycle, no matter how meticulous you are. Good luck with everything.

I'm more floored by the fact that he was told to dump all of his water.

dont blame you withh all the scary stories of them movin, dying , killing. there a hand full. I dont think i ever plan on having one.

as for store telling you to dump all your water, sounds like a crappy fish store tryin to make more money off of you. Im with packleader make that trip to return your nem your last.

You can use the same product you used to cycle you can also use another product called cycle. If you want to use fish you can use fresh water black mollies to cycle your tank. Like everyone else said, Don't dump all your water, carry back the nem you can prob keep the clowns since they've been in there for 3 weeks and no prob, the cycle is prob almost over. Are you using live sand as your substrate? And for the love of fish, either inform the store manager of their incompetence or never go back there;);)

    Right?? That's just crazy.

Here, buy 2 clowns, an anemone, start your cycle, dump your water, start over ... nah, they don't want to sell additional livestock

It would be one thing if he had started with tap water but that's clearly not the case here.

Thank's for all your advice, i wish i had known about this forum before i started. I just ran in and took the advice they gave me, one of the women there who was not happy i put the nitrobac in said that i should not put anything in the tank that i would not put in my own body. I like big macs but i would not drop one in the tank. All of the parameters of the water are staying very steady. I have had no peaks in nitrite or nitrate although the phosphate level has risen they told me this was the cause of the algae.
