Phosphates come from either your water or an end result of food being added to your tank. Are you topping off with tap water?

Went back to the store today to ask if they will take the nem back, They have a big sign saying they are not a fish library so they wont, not even for a credit note. I'm just going to have to grin and bear it.

I will travel further afield in future there are some good aquriums but they are out of my area.

Any chance any other store will take the anemone?
Anemone's are challenging to keep, and it most likely will not make it through the cycle. And, as they die, they release toxins. These toxins can kill every living thing in your tank. That is why we are so heavily suggesting to get it out.

That's a bummer man. I would definitely not shop at that store in the future. Good luck with your tank - and get your advice from folks here ;D

From the sounds of it, it will be worth the trip. I'm always amazed when stores that recommend and sell animals that are "inappropriate" for a customer's tank refuse to take these animals back.

I travel an hour to get to the closest LFS, it's worth the trip to get good advice and good livestock.

Luckily my local LFS is literally at the end of my back driveway...
I live directly in town lol and the small gravel road that goes behind the row of houses goes directly into Reefs and Reptiles in Grayson, Ky. I became friends with the owner.
Really good guy. I can walk there in 2 minutes

A good fish store will talk you out of buying things instead of extending the length of the receipt. I'm sorry your first LFS experience is a bad one.

Those people should be made to drink the water from the tank after the anemone crashes.
