I wouldn't even have the clown fish till WELL cycled.. !!!

I used raw fresh shrimp, frozen.. Worked well..

It's sad that people done you that way.. I wish you the best of luck..
But, that's a hell of a way to get started in Saltwater..
NEVER go back to that LFS.. !!!

    Good Luck, Larry

I would also report them to the better business bureau.... Thats just bad business as well as bad responsibility for the animals....

    cool

If it's firmly attached to the rock, it will take a while to get it free. You'll have to gently use your fingernails 1 mm at a time all around and just let it release on it's own. You can't just pull it off or that will kill it too. Sometimes ice cubes on the foot help and sometimes it doesn't.

Can you post the name of this store address and phone number. I would like to personally talk to these goobs. Taking things out of the ocean knowing they're going to die just ain't right. Also the nem is going to kill the fish because it will die. All my fish stores in Dallas that I know of... will buy back fish for 1/3 retail even if you didn't by it there... but this is a special case you should get full credit.

Wow, they told you to cycle a tank with an anemone. That is just wrong on soooo many levels!!! Then to tell you too bad, you're on your own is just plain BullShyte. It's obvious they were just looking at you as a payday and a future payday when your tank and all the animals die. Since they treated you this way, I would hit them where it hurts. Take your business and referrals elsewhere. Personally, I would camp outside during their busy hours on the weekend (assuming you have time) and inform potential customers outside in the parking lot of their unethical business practices and their lack of care for the animals and direct them to a better LFS. But that's just me...

I had to move my anemone the other night. He decided he wanted to move onto my return nozzle in my tank on water change night! ::)
I pointed a small Rio pump to get him disturbed and used a turkey baster to blow water on the foot. It took about 30mins for him to release from the Loc-lines on his own. I put him back on the rock, did the water change and everything was ok after that. Like Curt (Inwall) said, go slow and don't damage the foot. Infections of tears usually always lead to death.
