Think the advice i got was wrong.

I aint going to rock the boat at this point in time, They are the biggest and supposed best in wigan. But they do seem to be a funny crowd in there, Like when i mentioned that i had seen a refractometer on ebay for about £25 they told me it would be rubbish. Everything i seem to do is wrong to them, thats why i'm glad to have found this forum. I have since found another lfs who is only about 300 yards from them, He doesn't have a massive marine section but he has what i need and he's willing to take the nem off me for a full credit.

Needless to say the word is being put out on streets about the bad advice.....

I agree in the uk they give VERY bad advice..... even telling you out right lies to sell you live stock! And then if you try and exsplain to them they say @oh you read to much dont be so stupid!'

I got told that it would be ok to put soft corals in my 6 week old tank ( being new & dumb i thought ok then take there advice!) so i chose one which turned out to be a carpet anemone! I kept looking at it thinking it was a anemone but no they assured me it was not so i out it on the id on hear and to my horror it was a carpet anemone. Now even thought i clearly didnt no to much about reef keeping at that point i new that that was BAD news so i phoned the shop & they said i was being silly & that it would be fine! I kept it for 2 day and did loads off reserch then called them again and insisted that they take it back. once at the shop they treated me like i was a fool telling me it would have been fine & i was over reacting.
I have two shops near me & both would go out off there was & tell bad info even lies just to sell there stock so now i rely on this site to learn the truth about reef keeping

Wow even the really crappy stores arent that bad. Eventually it will catch up to them. I love it when people protest stores, they sit outside with signs and yell about unfair treatment. Its funny cause nobody cares. I hope you have some kind of luck.

 

Well the nem has gone ;D ended up i had to take him in on the live rock he had buryed his foot right in the middle of it. I think things will work out ok, the new lfs i'm going to actually stop to talk to you not and just about your setup but about anything. Really nice staff.

 

I will admit I got an Anemone way to soon as well...I am sure a few noticed my mistake
