I was going to possibly add a green/yellow Toadstool to my 55g and was wondering what other TS owners thought of theirs. Is it very adaptable to different light conditions, does it flourish and grow rapidly?

I think it would be great to see one of my Ocellaris host it but I know it's hit or miss. Would love to have a nice big stalk in the middle of the tank, like a centerpiece of sorts.

My other corals are currently: Hammers, Xenis, Pom Poms, Hairy Mushrooms, Assorted Mushrooms, Frogspawn, Sinularia Leather, Cabbage Leather, Goniopora, GSP, & Assorted Zoas.

    Thanks in advance!

Toadstools can be finicky. I have a large one that was huge in my old 55 gal. with not many other coral and regular old like T8 bulbs. At that time I didn't have a protein skimmer and so the water was a little "dirty" as they say and nitrates were 40 ppm and it loved those conditions. Got a phos reactor and skimmer and it wasn't as "happy" but still looked good. After adding a Colt coral and another leather and subsequently upgraded to T5, it went into shut down mode and never was the same. I eventually moved it to my Biocube and under less light and less filtered water it is huge again. Others on here seem to have a lot of softies together and theirs look fine.....who knows. Granted I have a huge Colt which my trusted LFS said is probably giving off a lot of toxins because it is so large.

The only lights i've ever run are Tek T5's and i've grown huge toadstools.I got rid of the 2 i had about a year ago. They were on the bottom of my 20 inch deep 105 gallon.Only got rid of them as they out grew there spot, the tops were 8 inches across, grown from a small 1 inch frag.
