AZ advised against units with two carbon blocks(first one) as it causes unesessary backpressure, this one also looks huge, need alot of room under the sink! Does seem to come with everything needed though and a great price.I bought the H2O Science unit too, can't wait to install it,as soon as I get what I need to do so from AWI.

do some research here and you'll see why AZDesertRat recommends Spectrapure so highly (and with good reason :p )

Well I would be installing it into my basement, which i would then kind of have unlimited space.

haha thats making me not want to buy one. I dont wanna spend money on one if my water is just going to ruin it. Id be better off filling up jugs at my lfs.

It would be cheaper than the gas and wear and tear on your car plus time lost driving. Plus you would have better control over the quality. How religious is your LFS on testing the water to make sure the system is running in tip top shape.

make sure you get a collection container big enough for your needs. When it is full turn it off or get an auto shuttoff style or it will use up your filters premature.

Im pretty sure they test it all the time. It is a very very nice store that specializes in only salt water so i know they dedicate all of time on their stuff. I would trust them over other fish stores.

If your familys been using the well water and you're all ok I doubt it would ruin your RO/DI:eek: You might be able to get your lfs to check a sample with their tds meter for you if it would make you feel better.

I've been thinking of buying the SpectraPure proPlus RO/DI unit. Is this a good choice? I like the price ($149 for 3reef members) and SpectraPure seems to have a good reputation on this board. I have very little experience in RO/DI systems so I'd appreciate input before I potentially waste my money on a product that may not suit my needs (one of my main reasons for wanting one is to help with a diatom problem).
