We're selling our home and most likely building a new home....that process will take 4-6 months and we'll probably end up renting while building our home so I'm thinking the best thing to do is sell the entire setup and maybe someday setup another tank from scratch. Here's a pic I took today and a list of equipment, trying to figure out a reasonable price for everything. What do you think would be fair?

DT with all corals, fish and other livestock, ~80-90 Fiji lbs of LR, 100-120 lbs CaribSea LS
6x54W T5 setup with ATI bulbs, DIY LED moon lights
Korallin 1502 CA reactor, eheim pump, JBJ regulator, 30 lb CO2 tank
AquaController w/ DC8 module + pH, ORP, Temp probes.
    2x2LF Phosban Reactors
ASM G2 skimmer w/ Sendra 3500 pump - skimmer has gatevalve mod.
3x200W Titanium heaters (+ some extra 200w Stealth backup)
    DIY ATO (20g)
    DIY 55g sump w/ fuge + 6-7" DSB
    Captive Purity RO/DI unit (75G / day)
    Lots of powerheads (K4's & K2's)
UV Steralizer (This was used on my QT yrs ago, I have a new bulb), never used it on my reef tanks.
I have boxes of aquarium stuff that I don't ever remember.

oh hey your in mass! member of boston reefers?

Honestly there seems to be quite a few ppl in the club getting out of the hobby and suppy is high and demand isn't exactly high most of the breakdowns are taking quite a while to sell. Idk what you shouuld sell this gorgeous set up for but it might take a while to get rid of it all unless you take the coral into a local lfs and breakdown the equipment.

    my 2cents.

Good luck! and i'll keep an eye out if you part out the coral on breefers.

Hey, no, I'm not on Boston Reefers. If I do sell it, I would prefer not to part it out...takes too long and I don't have the time for it, but we'll see. If I do, hopefully someone wants all the livestock, then I can part out the equipment.

A family that's interested in the house, also wants the tank....but they know nothing about a reef tank, they think the corals are plastic decorations :), they have no interest in learning to take care of it, but they want it...I wouldn't sell it as part of the deal, everything would be dead within a month or less. I'm just kicking around options.

TBH i would say expect half of what you really want for all of it. beautiful tank though, and if it were possible to just pick it up and move it to my house, i would happily oblige ;)

Love this tank. I hate to think of you tearing it down. Do you have an LFS in the area that will rent you some space?

Thanks guys, not sure I would sell it yet, just exploring options. Last time I moved and sold my tank I ended up getting out of the hobby for a few years. I think if I sell it I would probably get out of the hobby for a while.

Dude, keep it. Ya can tell how much time, care and $$$ you've put in it. Awesome tank!

Nothing 5 or 6 rubbermaid totes, 2 friends, a pizza and a 12 pack can't take care of! IMO

I would look into getting all corals you have fragged down and sold for profit, live rock sold, etc to either a local LFS or people in the area. Almost like cashing in on the investment. Then store the equipment for the move and set it back up when you're ready to get back into the hobby. I moved my reef twice when we bought our new house, it took a pretty big hit in the move livestock-wise. If I had to do it again I'd do what i've mentioned above.

Why would you sell that?? I'd pay 5k for that- one of the most beautiful tanks I've seen!
