Hey everyone. Well I am planning on stocking up on some snails and was thinking about getting a cool crab or somthing. Has anyone had expirience with keeping urchins in smaller tanks (55 isnt that big...:() Maybe a tuxedo urchin...not sure about rocks moving. Also, if anyone knows of a crab like the emerald thats reef safe let me know. My pom pom crabs are great...but i only see them once a month at the most!...thanks :)

Urchins are a pain in the butt. They knock stuff over and some like to stick things on themselves as camoflauge. I once had a tuxedo urchin stick a 2" maxima clam onto it's back. Thankfully, I got it off before the urchin disappeared somewhere in the rockwork. Now how about a harlequin shrimp :)

Yeah, my clam....wouldya believe it?! :)

My harlequins take up to 2 weeks to eat a starfish then they don't get another one for about a week afterwards so unless you're going to be away from home for a month at a time, you can feed the shrimp before you leave and your worries will be over :)

I got my Sallie a week ago, acclimated him with the drip method for two hours and put him in the tank..........haven't seen him since. I've been looking for him everywhere and can't find him. I heard they were very social, did yours hide for awhile after being newly introduced?

I don't trust sally lightfoots. When they get large, they get aggressive towards your fish and inverts. Plus they're very fast moving crabs and they just freak me right the heck out :)
