    Siddique,

I have run Ozone through my skimmer for years – best improvement I have ever seen in my tank ever. Within two days you will notice a crispness to your water color that you didn’t even know you were missing.

Unfortunately the unit you are looking at is a piece of crap – I would suggest at least moving up to the Red Sea version of what you are looking at. I use this one: Ultralife Ultrazone Ozonizer

I use and ORP probe for information but no longer use a controller. Ozone increases your ORP and cleans your water and actually reduces the amount your skimmer will extract. However, your skimmer will churn out the foulest smelling crap every – that’s your forewarning! (I dump mine outside)

Read those articles that Steve posted above – I too would have pointed you to ReefKeeping and Randy Holmes-Farley….It just can’t be explained better in more detail. Good luck and happy reading

OMG!!! They want you to inject ozone DIRECTLY into the tank??? That's insane. At a minimum if, your skimmer isn't ozone compatible, at least build a DIY reactor.

What did I miss on this thread - who said to inject Ozone directly into the tank? I thought this was always a discussion about injecting the ozone into a skimmer. I suppose it could be done but I wouldn't advise it as you would be limited in running the excess ozone through carbon - there are negative health impact to breathing O3

I guarantee it breaking due to moisture content in the air within 12 months. If you use the moisture absorbing beads your maintenance is weekly (and you have to bake the beads to dry them out) – it’s a frigging nightmare. I did it for far too long. It’s not worth $99 fresh or saltwater … invest in something like I use and it will last and be maintenance free. Ozone ready skimmer is key and ozone tubing is a must.

Hey Curt – I see now, they are running it to an airstone on the brand the OP dropped a link to. Yeah, I am with you – that’s insane and NO way healthy for people !!

A small amount of O3 is gold! Using a 50mg Sander at lowest setting in a 300gal tank on a mce600 deltec skimmer. Effluent goes through the mce600 filter box with GAC

All tanks are different – an ORP probe will let you set the MG to your set up. For example, a 50mg as you suggest would be insufficient in my set-up. I use a 360MG unit (linked above) to dial in my ORP to my liking and tank needs. But I agree - O3 is in fact gold
