Black clowns are expensive to add a pair and end up having both go if the tank isn't ready. Wrasse aren't as hardy as clowns, IMO.

You have a ton of posts and I'm doubting this is your first rodeo. Any thing different between this tank and others you've started? I'm thinking specifically of salt and water source here.

Wow you shoulda had pods runnin around after a few days.. then some pod explosions after a few weeks... I would try a waterchange and then add one fish.. My tank cycled in a week. did you have your rock shipped? How many days did it take? Maybe buy a nice piece of live rock from your LFS.. to seed your current rock.. idk

The "test fish." Poor little soldier going into the great unknown of your new tank :D Make sure you pick a strong one. Damsels are good. Clowns are damsels, they can withstand a lot.

I use API kits they work well.. Clownfish would be a good hardy choice!

this is my first sw tank, and i get my water from the lfs, the majority of water came from a different lfs where i bought the lr and ls. Then i found an lfs closer and have been using their water, along with a bunch of other people cause everyone is always getting water from there. The only mistake that i have done so far was topping off with sw during the first 2 or 3 weeks, then i learned that sw does not evaporate and that top offs need to be done with freshwater and i've been doing that ever sense. And everything has been ro/di
