Congrats on getting the tank! and on having the best wife ever! I reread through this thread and saw how many tanks you have! my goodness - you are a serious hobbyist!

I read the next and ingtar says his wife is the best. I think they each have great husbands that talk so highly of them ;)

Im a terrible husband who trashes the house to make room for M0ar Tanx! And spends all my money on fish instead of her lol.

aww.....just show her your post about her being the best. I have to say, tanks are beautiful so it's not like you're putting something nasty in the house (although I know all the stuff that goes with it can look kinda ugly)....now the money spent, whole other story lol

Tank... It was tank only... I used the tank for 2+yrs and sold it for $300 tank only. Used equipment isn't worth much IMO nor are used tanks.

Well $300 just bought me a 125 tank w/ dual overflows, stand, 72" lighting fixture, 45 gallon sump/'fuge, Mag 12 return pump, powerhead, and a 36W UV. I should easily be able to get that or more selling my 55 gallon that it is replacing. To buy everything new would easily have been ~$2000. So in this case I am basically getting a free upgrade, so it is well worth it :)

On that note, we brought the tank home without any issues. I had to move my 28 nano before we could put the tank in its final home. Drained all but 5 gallons, and 3 of us were able to move it (2 lifting tank, one on stand).

The 125 is now in its final spot. I thoroughly cleaned out the sump and got it piped. I cleaned out the overflows, which had never been cleaned apparently and had a few inches of buildup. Tomorrow I will clean the tank itself, install the drain and return piping in the tank, and hopefully get some water in it by the end of the day!

Didn't you say the light ended up being a pc light??? Worthless if so IMO, unless your going to set up a 6' fuge somewhere or its a fowlr..... or softies :-X Pretty sure those bulbs are becoming harder to find as well.

I bought the 180 for $90, a used 100g rubbermaid that I used for a sump for 40, a 400g skimmer for $75, had the pumps and powerheads from my old set up. I did spend $800 on my LEDs but there is no comparison in them compared to PC's....

~2000 new means nothing when you didn't buy new, used SW equipment has a severely diminished value. I'm not saying it wasn't worth $300 for everything, just that you could have likely gotten a better deal/ bigger tank with some more patience :) Heck I know a guy who got a 400g acrylic for like $150 and an old 90g LOL
