Came home from Argentina to a tank FULL of aiptasia, most of my beautiful sun coral frags dead, my two gorgonian both suffering from aiptasia stings, and my maxi mini and rock anemone gone. :(

On top of that I have just about destroyed my back chambers of my biocube trying to get my eshopps nano skimmer to fit (HIGHLY recommend this skimmer to AIO tank owners).

Im thinking of pulling all my rock out, and just letting them sit outside for a couple weeks; while bringing my lonely royal gramma and RBTA (IDK how he survived, temp climbed to 86*F, param swings like you wouldn't know, and top off with tap for a month or more) to the LFS for holding, and making a custom back chamber system for the tank (similar to the stock biocube chamber system, but probably pained glass instead of plastic).

    OR...

I can use the money instead to get my 45g up and running (needs to be drilled and needs a stand). Plans for this are a marine betta and a mated pair of redfin wasp fish from the LFS I work at.

    Thoughts?

Wow. That's a bummer. I hear about this kind of thing a lot after vacations. I can see starting over. I have a 40 and an 8. I much more enjoy the 8. But then again if all I had was the 8, I'd be wanting a bigger tank.

I have a 45 tall sitting in my room empty, without a stand. LFS has a breeding pair of redfins that I know I can get a deal on. I'm just waiting to get an estimate on a stand and drilling/sump.

Best of luck whichever direction you go.

Vacations always bring some kind of tank trouble. Sorry that stinks.
